Lithium-Ion Battery Container for Storage & Transport

This lithium ion battery box is designed to minimize fire risk. It is built to provide ballistic and thermal storage and transport solution specifically for Li-ion batteries. It can be used to isolate batteries that are damaged, defective or ready for recycling (DDR). The box outside shell is made from a welded 0.10 aluminum shell for strength with reduced weight. A high-temperature gasket seal and integrated hydrogen fluoride filter will reduce toxic smoke emissions, particulates and provide pressure relief during a runaway event. The interior is lined with 0.5" thick plywood and has a 2-hour fire-rated coating that helps to reduce the exterior box temperatures and minimize fire spread. In a lab test the lithium ion battery transport container maintained an outside temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit despite the interior reaching 302 degrees Fahrenheit. The snap and lock latches are welded to the case. Two surface mount folding ring style handles are welded on the sides of the tote for easy lifting. The lid is welded to a piano style hinge and has a wire lid retainer cable to prevent it from falling backwards.
