WIBW.com has reported that the Kansas Department of Labor has released the second annual Workplace Safety Report. According to their report, the total number of workplace illnesses and injuries in 2008 increased 1.52% over 2007. The previous year increase was 4.13%. In terms of real numbers, over 70,000 workplace accidents were reported in Kansas in 2008 and 43 state workers were killed in work-related accidents.

These figures have been released just days before Workers Memorial Day, which happens this Tuesday. This is a day dedicated to remembering those who have lost their lives due to work-related accidents.
